Album: Hokkaido, Japan (Jul 2009)
This 17-day Hokkaido trip was chosen because it was one of our shortlisted destination, among other places such as Greece island Santorini. The temperature was between 15 to 25 degree celcius in Hokkaido and high twenties in Tokyo. We did self drive most of the time in Hokkaido except Sapporo city and Kushiro City (i.e. start and end city in Hokkaido).

Album: The Racha, Phuket, Thailand (May 2009)
End Apr to early May we had a short getaway to the The Racha Resort on Koh Racha Yai south of the island of Phuket, Thailand. We had a night-over at the Sino House in Phuket town before making our way to the Racha via speedboat. Basically a "chill-out" holiday, enjoying the sea and beaches. ;)

Album: Kandooma Island, Maldives (Jul 2008)
From 12 to 18 Jul 08, we made reservations at the Kandooma Resort, Maldives for a short getaway. Our work schedules only allowed us to take leave in Jul, so instead of Santorini (Greece), we went ahead with Maldives, which Pei and I have wanted to visit seeing the beautiful blue ocean views and white sands.

Album: Nikko-Tokyo-Hakone, Japan (Mar 2008)
From 22 to 31 Mar 2008, 4 of us - Pei, myself, Zhen and Siew Li took a northwest airlines flight from Singapore to Tokyo. This time, Pei specially timed the travel so that we can see the cherry blossoms open. Temperature was about 5 to 10 degrees, with occasional sub-5 temperature. On this trip, we visited several places : Nikko, Tokyo City and Hakone.

Album: Hong Kong & Macau, China (Feb 2008)
We visited Hong Kong and Macau during the Chinese New Year season of 2008. Temperature was a cold 8 to 15 degrees celcius. This is due to a cold front up north in China. On this trip, we arrived in Macau, but made a beeline to Hong Kong. During the last two days, we stayed in Macau before returning back to Singapore.

Album: Chiangmai, Thailand (Nov 2007)
From 7 to 11 Nov 07, we made a quick trip to Chiangmai in Thailand. Temperature was about 20 to 30 deg cel. The plan was to spend 2 days in the peaceful "countryside" at the Krisadoi Aprime Resort and 2 days have good time shopping and taking in the sights of the city (Maninarakorn Hotel, near to the night markets).

Album: Krabi, Thailand (Feb 2007)
Went to Krabi Province in Thailand during the Chinese New Year period of 2007. The place was pretty hot! It was time to slap on lotsa sunscreen lotion and lotsa water for the entire trip. We had a "surprise". The air-con in our 3-star hotel was not working. It took the hotel staff 1 night to fix, and we had to sleep 1 night in the Manager's empty office with a makeshift king size bed. Our meals were mainly fried rice, fried noodle (which is actually Guotiao) and some vegetables. As weather is really warm, we had to drink some Chang beer to cool down from time to time...

Album: Taipei & Surrounds, Taiwan (Jan 2007)
Dec 2006 - closing of the year. We booked tickets on Jetstar Asia to Taiwan. It was a pleasant trip. Temperature hovered about 13 to 17 degrees celcius. All in all, it was a interesting mix of city, mountains, lakes, rock formation, pretty good street food, very fresh seafood and of course, some shopping! Weather pretty freaky - overcast with clouds on all but one day in sun moon lake. Well, got to make do with whatever weather I am given! :p

Album: Hong Kong, China (June 2006)
We visited Hong Kong in Jun 2006. It's summer time in Hong Kong and best for shopping for summer clothing. Stores abound with very competitively priced branded clothes. Camera equipment is also relatively cheaper than in Singapore. We flew to Macau and went into Hong Kong as the fares is cheaper this way.

Album: Kyoto-Osaka-Nara, Japan (Nov 2005)
We visited Kyoto, Japan in Nov 2005. It's autumn season. Temperature was a rather comfortable 12 to 20 degree celcius. During the this trip, we visited Kyoto: North (Ohara, Kurama, Kibune), West (Arashiyama), East (Higashiyama, Gion, Pontocho); Otsu (north of Kyoto); Osaka city (Umeda building and Port area); and Nara (Deer park and around).

Album: Tokyo, Japan (Jan 2005)
I visited Tokyo, Japan in Jan 2005. This means it's winter season, and things can get a little chilly. Temperature hovers between 6 to 15 degrees. During the Tokyo Japan trip, I visited the Sensoji Temple, Oeno Area and park, Tokyo Tower, some shrine outer areas, Tokyo bridge, radio TV stations and Odaiba Seaside Park. Japan is a rather unique country and its people are friendly and helpful.

Album: Phuket, Thailand (Nov 2004)
From 10 to 15 Nov, I had a short trip with my spouse to the sunny and beautiful island of Phuket. We took Tiger Airways, a budget air carrier from Singapore. The iternary of the trip was Phuket City - Racha Island - Bang Tao beach - Patong Beach (Dinner)- Phi Phi Island Day Trip - Singapore.

Album: Bintan & Batam, Indonesia (Misc Dates)
Bintan and Batam are two islands that are very close to Singapore, and on short weekends, they are ideal for a short getaway.
