DAY 1 - SINGAPORE TO SAPPORO, HOKKAID0 (札幌市,北海道) After a 6 hr flight from Singapore to Tokyo, we are at the domestic lounge, waiting for the ANA flight to New Chitose Airport, Hokkaido. This explains the banana speciality food in yellow on the right part of the photo.

My first Japan milk tea in a long while! Yeah! Plus, the おにぎり (Onigiri) aka rice ball in triangular shape is in my left hand! This is our lunch, I think....

On the ANA flight, we were a little more paranoid than the rest, although we did see also some of the passengers donning masks. Although there were about 10 cases reported in Hokkaido, many more (hundreds/thousands) in Tokyo, so better play safe. Scully reach Hokkaido kena fever - super sad man... :P

View from the aircraft. You can see some farm land, but I suspect that the one in the centre (light green is a golf course of sorts)

This is the real farmland place. In fact, this was taken near our approach to the New Chitose Aiport (新千歳空港)

Yes, this is the ANA domestic flight's plane that we took from Tokyo to New Chitose. Quite small plane. That explained for the lower stability during flight cos lighter mah.

Our room for the next few days in Sapporo. Quite spacious by Japan standard. Still remember the super cramped hotel in Hanzomon two trips back in Tokyo with Pei.

Taken along the Toyohira River. It was boring at first, but a man came along and made a phone call while standing by the river. So I took a photo of him with the river bank.

Pei at the chilled food aka "staple food for us in Japan" area in Lawson convenience store. The food and bentos in these stores are actually pretty good, and cost between 200+ yen to 600+ yen ($3 to $7.50) - this is how we save some money along the way! :)

Busy street, even in Sapporo. However, I suspect it's not as bad as Tokyo's.

One example of the bentos we bought from the convenience stores. Lower left - spaghetti (surprisingly not soft and mushy), Tori (chicken pieces), Rice on the top right, and other condiments and sausage to go with them. If I remember, it costed me $4.50 (298 yen). This is dinner!

A beautifully formed plant found growing beside the river. Ah - reminds me that God takes care of even this little plant, which today is here, and perhaps a few days later withered and gone.

DAY 2 - MOERENUMA PARK AND SAPPORO TV TOWER Pano photo taken from the window of our hotel window. It faces the Toyohira River. On the lower left corner, you might be able to spot tiny sized elderly people play some grass ball game.

We are going to Moerenuma Park (モエレ沼公園, Moerenuma Kōen), so better have a hearty breakfast before going for the long walk!

[Panoramic Photo] This is the sea fountain. Created in reference to a similar fountain in Miamis Bayfront Park the Sea Fountain can also be called a sculpture of water. At its maximum height the fountain can reach 25 meters. The dynamic momentum and flow of water portrays the birth of life and the heavens above, giving the entire park a feeling of life.

Ah, this look like an alien abduction shot. keke. To show the scale of this shot, I had Pei go up the slope and raise her hands. Indeed this is a huge structure -Tetra Mound. The Tetra mound is a simple, dynamic form that consists of a triangular pyramid (13meters in height), composed of stainless steel columns, two meters in diameter, and a grassy mound.

Mt. Moere. Similar to the Play Mountain and Glass Pyramid, the 62-meter tall Mt. Moere constitutes a key form in the entire park as well as the only mountain landmark in the northeastern area of the city of Sapporo. Here's participants were trying to form the picture of a flower on the slope. Many people moving up and down this slope. Onlookers as well.
